Vitra can now improve on this furnishing style: with the transparency and lightness of ACE, the new executive office programme by Antonio Citterio. Anyone looking for a contemporary way of expressing communicative and open collaboration will find it in ACE.

The executive office programme ACE features two desk shapes: the triangular desk with rounded edges and the boat-shaped desk. The tabletops are made of a solid polymer-bonded mineral materials and the sideboards are adapted to the sizes of the desk. Despite the dimensions of the desks, ACE radiates lightness and transparency thanks to the bright material used and the elegant, Y-shaped legs made of polished aluminium.

Technical description:
Ad hoc tables are 25mm thick, and are available in natural veneer or laminate finishes. Asymmetric laminate surfaces are finished on both sides, making them non-handed and reversible. Each table base is comprised of metal profile sections joined by die-cast aluminium connectors. These profiles are perforated every four cm. This perforation system guarantees flexible and intelligent use of supporting, connecting and accessory elements.

Ergonomic individualization is supported with heigh-adjustable glides (68-78cm, infinitely variable) fitted to the curved tubular steel legs. Ad One is suitable for all kinds of offices: from the individual or team office to the large open plan office. Its simple line creates a pleasing and calm atmosphere even in an area with many workstations and its structural stability make it possible to assemble large configurations with a minimal number of table legs. For example, the triple workplace, which is an ideal combination for productive teamwork, has a table surface measuring 270x180cm and requires only four (instead of 12) legs.

The programme offers simple solutions for wire management. A cable chain leads from the central floor connection to a cable outlet flap in the table top providing easy access to data, telephone and power sources. Surplus cable and IT-transformers are stored in an easily accessible basket underneath the top. This system allows the quick reconfiguration of connections and cables.

ArchiMeda

Alberto Meda's and Vitra's aim when developing the ArchiMeda was to design a simple, well conceived managers desk to simplify and enrich complicated everyday life. ArchiMeda is a height-adjustable desk that brings a healthy mix of sitting and standing options into the executive office. 

The large, fine wood veneered table top rests on the scissor lifting mechanism, the height of which can be adjusted electronically. ArchiMeda is suited for use as a table for meetings conducted with participants either seated or - especially when reviewing documents and plans - standing. 

The mechanically synchronised scissor lifting mechanism on gliders enables easy height adjustment of 68 to 113 cm in just 9 seconds.

The MedaMorph collection offers a basic range of round and rectangular tables and of round and boat-shaped conference tables designed with an intelligently shaped system base frame. This system expresses the fundamental idea of the program and consists of 4 elements: two types of leg, the star connector and cross bars of variable lengths. 

These elements form a modular set enabling conference tables of any size or shape to be erected. This allows customer preference in terms of leg room or the aesthetic appearance of the table legs can be largely accommodated.

Flexibility:

The TERMINAL table system combines ultra-advanced technology and a special design solution: despite the height of the table (chosen by the user), all the other elements, including the third level, always remain the same height. This ensures that even when several TERMINAL tables are grouped together, despite differing table heights, the overall visual impression is of calm and carefully designed area.

WorKit is a simple, logical and extremely flexible solution conveying a subtle impression for communicative office areas. With a cube-shaped connecting element named PIN and a few additional parts, WorKit can be spontaneously reconfigured and adapted to new demands caused by expansion, reduction or remodelling. Adjustable screens can be mounted depending on varying requirements for communication or concentration.

Workshelter defines a place of retreat for deliberation, concentration and solitary work. Workshelter's worktop is screened by two felt-lined walls which isolate the user both visibly and physically.

The felt lining is acoustically effective and not only protects the workstation within Workshelter from extraneous noise but also increases the sound absorption surface in the room.
